Rescue Radar and Wide Angle Camera Search System are Used in a Huge Sinkhole Accident in China

A huge sinkhole has opened up in the middle of a thoroughfare in a major Chinese city on December 1st, 2019, swallowing a cleaning truck and a bike. The sinkhole on a main road measures as deep as 38 metres (124 feet).

Three people have been trapped in the hole for more than 36 hours. More than 1,100 rescue workers have been sent to the scene to look for the three victims.

The sinkhole continued to grow during initial rescue works, posing challenge to firefighters.

The Halo Gets Put Through Its Paces By Aviation Fire Trainer

The Halo thermal image helmet camera was utilised during internal aircraft search, with the purpose of firefighting actions and casualty rescue. During the preparation of the venue, conditions were prepared with the use of internal fire situations, allowing the increased of internal temperature and restricted vision. The interactions between flame and smoke were clearly visible, being in an excellent location to observe the dynamics of fire development and smoke generation. Thermal indicators and the constant revaluation of the environment made by the imager made operations achievable.

The only one survivor pulled out 67 hours after Shenzhen landslide

Rescuers pulled a man from debris, three days after a landslide buried buildings in mud and construction waste in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

Tian Zeming, 21, was found after almost 72 hours living on seeds and fruit that had been buried with him when a tide of earth and rubble from a huge waste dump crushed more than 30 buildings. He is the one survival rescued from Shenzhen’s landslide.

Major U.K. oil refinery working with the halo
